Cover Reveal: Shatter Me

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Expected publication: October 16th 2012 by HarperCollins
Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting as The Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel.
According to Tahereh Mafi, they changed the cover because they felt that the first cover wasn't properly reflecting the book and the story. Click HERE to read more about the new cover. :D

I think this cover is better than the first. So, what do you think? The first cover or the new one? :D

The first cover of Shatter Me. :D

  1. I hate when they change covers! I'm OCD about my books looking the same on the shelf. And I have so many series where the first hardcover doesn't match the others. I like the new cover, but I don't know if I like it better than the old one. And I've read the book, but I don't see how the second cover is anymore reflective of the book than the first one. I'm just excited for the second book, but now I'm curious what that cover will look like. Sorry for the rant - as you can tell I'm overly surprised by the change :) Thanks for sharing!

    1. Oh, I also don't like when the cover of first book didn't match the second or third book. According to Tahereh, the cover is basically like the inside of Juliette's head. Hahaha. I'm also excited for the second book. :))

  2. I second Krista. I am so OCD about covers, too. And, I hate it when they change covers and my books don't match -_-

I still love the first cover better. Though, this new one is kinda interesting.

    Thanks for sharing :)
